4 days yoga retreat in Koh Yao Noi
Do you know what it feels to be both calm, relaxed, peaceful and full of energy, physically tired at the same time? If you don’t, try a yoga retreat!
After our first nice yoga experience in Krabi, we decided to invest a little bit more time in order to get a better understanding of what yoga is about. So, we attended a 4 days yoga retreat at “Island Yoga” on a very peaceful and serene island, with a lot more locals than tourists – Ko Yao Noi. Our daily schedule included 2 mandatory yoga sessions, optional yoga workshops, healthy food, sleep, reading and just relaxing on the beach, surrounded by nature. We’ve spent one evening with the other people talking around a bonfire on the beach; another one sharing a delicious “family dinner” and a movie about how yoga became more popular in the XX century in India. We’ve recharged our batteries and our spirit before going to the next destination. So chill!
After all these days I found my answer about yoga: yes, it is a very good exercise for the body and may train the mind as well, it helps with getting a correct posture and it always encourages to challenge yourself and overcome your limits. However, I find it difficult to understand why it represents almost a religion for some people that see it as a life changer or even as a life saver… Maybe I am less profound or…maybe I just want to be my own “saver”.
