It’s a small world after all

It’s a small world after all

We felt like kids again for one day while experiencing the fantastic world of Frodo, Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins – Hobbiton movie set. Built on the wavering hills of Alexander family farm, the small holes with multi-color doors and carefully crafted furniture, with flowers at the entrance and surrounded by fantasy trees are just like a fairytale. The tree we all know from the movies was apparently brought from Auckland Botanical Garden and its leaves (from Taiwan) were manually sewed and painted in different shades of green.

Everything looks so real that we expected Hobbits to get out any minute!

We initially wanted to get the candle lit dinner tour, but it was fully booked for the following week. If you ever get there, do not make the same mistake as we did to book last minute. The Bear thinks the dinner experience should be a feast worthy for a knight.

However, we still managed to have a beer at the bar.
